Sulla strada per andare a Durbar Square, intorno ad un tempietto ci sono i nostri piccoli amici di strada che incontriamo spesso, sono bambini fuggiti dalla miseria, dalla violenza, spesso maltrattati da famiglie disastrate e spesso violentati. Arrivano dalle località più lontane, camminando per giorni … Dipendenti dalla colla che sniffano in continuazione, un solvente dannosissimo a base di toluene. I bambini di strada sono abbandonati a se stessi e si muovono in branco, la gente li evita e loro evitano la gente.
Noi di Mother India School, ci siamo offerte di trascorrere delle ore con loro, con l’intenzione di portare qualcosa di gioioso, attraverso il gioco della fotografia.
Li abbiamo visti sorridere per qualche ora e molti di loro si sono dimenticati di sniffare la colla, per fotografare… E alla fine un chai caldo e biscotti per tutti. Purtroppo dopo qualche giorno, abbiamo saputo che tutto il gruppo era stato caricato dalla polizia, non siamo riuscite mai a sapere dove fossero stati portati.

On the way to go to Durbar Square, around a small temple there are our little friends of the road that we often encounter, are runaway children from poverty, violence, often mistreated by dysfunctional families and often abused. They come from distant localities, walking for days … Addicted to the glue that sniff all the time, a very harmful solvent toluene-based. Street children are abandoned to themselves and move in gang, people avoid them and they avoid people.
We at Mother India School, have offered to spend hours with them, with the intention of bringing something joyful, through the game of photography. We saw them smile for a few hours and many of them have forgotten about sniffing glue, to take pictures … And in the end a hot chai and biscuits for everyone. Unfortunately, a few days later, we learned that the whole group had been loaded by the police, we have never been able to know where they were taken.
